There are times when owners find themselves unable to adequately care for their pets for one reason or another. Thankfully, there are organizations that can step in and help.
Several Meals on Wheels programs, including Cobb and North Fulton counties, offer support. Qualifying clients who have difficulty adequately feeding their cat or dog may be able to receive supplemental pet food at no charge. Information is available through each county’s Senior Services program.
The nonprofit Happy Tails Pet Therapy is a group of pet owners who volunteer time to share the unconditional love and joy that their pets can give to patients and residents at various facilities. The organization arranges visits of volunteers and their pets—dogs, cats and rabbits—to healthcare facilities, social agencies and special needs programs.
Happy Tails Pet Therapy can be reached at P.O. Box 767961, Roswell, 30076 or by calling 770-740-8211. Visit happytailspets.org for details.
